    Oh sweet Julie…💞

Julie is a beautiful 15 month old English Bull Terrier x Lurcher who was surrendered to us several months ago with her brother George. Both puppies were very neglected and had been kept isolated in a shed for the first 7 months or so of their short lives. George was the much more confident of the two and has been lucky enough to find himself an amazing forever home.

While the puppies had the same upbringing, the effects from their entire critical socialization period spent alone, with limited human contact and no exposure to the outside world had a much more severe affect on Julie. She is distrustful of new people and struggles to cope with loud noises or new stimuli. As sad as this is to see in a young dog (or any dog), it’s the harsh reality of a lack of exposure and socialization.

Julie is looking for a very experienced and understanding owner with no children or other pets who will be willing to work with her at her own pace and allow her to blossom. With the understanding that initially, she will not be eager to interact, she won’t climb into your lap for cuddles on her first meeting, and she won’t trust immediately. She will need to be carefully managed to set her up for success and to learn how to be a pet, along with all basic training she should have received when she was a puppy.

Julie is not a straightforward dog, but she is just as deserving of a loving home and family as the next dog, after all she didn’t choose the circumstances she was born into. While the journey won’t necessarily be short, we have no doubt she will be a hugely rewarding dog for someone who will give her the time and low pressure environment for her to come out of her shell at a comfortable rate.

If you think you can offer our special Julie this golden opportunity, send us an email to ashlm@eircom.net with some details about your home/lifestyle and including your phone number.
We know that it won’t be easy to find the perfect someone, but we won’t give up on our Julie.

    Rocky

    ***booked***

    Meet happy boy Rocky.

Our beautiful boy has been with us for nearly 5 years now. Rocky is 7 years old boxer cross who had not much luck in life. He was surrendered to us as a young boy as he didn’t like people in uniforms. Rocky is a strong boy, he absolutely adores meeting new people and going for walkies. He absolutely adores spending time with volunteers too.

Rocky is looking for a very experienced home with no other animals and children. His tail never stops wagging and sometimes he is just a big playful pupply but we just want to make sure he gets the best possible chance.

Why not to get in touch if you would love to meet him? What’s not to love?

    Twinkle

    ***booked***

Twinkle came to ASH after she was found straying.  She is a terrier cross and she is around 4 years old.  Twinkle loves everyone but she’s not always that great with other animals.  Our Twinkle is a little princess and rightly so and she has that princess glow and love – someone somewhere will hopefully give our Twinkle her golden ticket from rescue – or at least that chance to proof herself!  All we ask for her is that our girl has a loving home where she is the only pet and where there are no small children.  If you think you’d like to meet her we’d be sure to let her know and she would be prepping all night for certain.  Please ask for her especially and give her a chance.

    Ollie

    ***booked***

Meet Ollie !!  Ollie is a gorgeous collie who was brought to ASH after a kind lady rescued him from a not so happy life. Ollie is nearly 4 years old and he had spent the first two years of his life tied on a chain with little or no interaction.    Ollie is such a gorgeous dog and he’s now at the point where he wants someone to give him a loving forever home.   We would prefer to see him go to an adult only home as children would be a little too much for him to handle.  Why not come meet him and get to know him for yourself?
